HIGHLIGHTS

The grand lobby is located at the right-upward-facing structure (right-wing) which serves as the starting point of the tour through the museum. The architectural intent of the space allocated for the lobby is to be seen through different vantage points around the area to recognize the edifice as the main entrance point of the building. The lobby, which is cladded in architectural space frames and glass, is intended to be transparent and to be visible.

The museum galleries are located at the connecting wing which connotes bridging the connection between oppression (left-wing) and justice (right-wing).  The concept also defines a roofed garden which connects through the different floors and terminates the whole tour through the galleries into a common collaborative social space.  This design intent forces social interaction and reflection which the whole process of the museum intends to convey its visitors, a retrospection of the different realities that happened during the martial law.

The left-wing, downward-facing structure, defines more visual weight although has a diagrid roof which is lifted up and symbolizes upliftment from oppression. This area creates a balance in the overall structure by imposing an asymmetrical balance in the main facade. This wing houses the roofed park terrace above which is a main collaborative area after the museum tour. Souvenir shops, and Restaurants are located at its ground floor and has beautiful views of the structure.

GROUND FLOOR

The space program of the building is broken down into two wings. Mainly, the right wing is allocated for the main museum entrance, the left wing allocated for the cafe and restaurants that is also the culmination of the whole tour of the museum, auditorium, and souvenir shops.

THIRD FLOOR

The third floor consists mainly of museum galleries and connects directly from the second floor through the roofed terrace.

FOURTH FLOOR

The fourth floor has the main galleries that house the remnants and evidences of the aftermath during the martial law. The gallery also terminated to the roof park terrace that connects the different museum galleries into a common gathering area.
