Modulation is the process of creating variation in a design and is a key element in making a composition interesting and visually appealing. Without modulation, a design can appear flat and uninteresting.
Planar junctions & connections are necessary in order to create a structurally sound building. Without a solid understanding of how to create these, an architect runs the risk of creating a building that could potentially collapse.
